Anthonia Onyejekwe in Conversation with Professor Johnny Symons

Anthonia Onyejekwe (MFA '18) was the inaugural guest for the Cinema Cocktail Hour, a new speaker series on the first Fridays of the month. Onyejekwe, a Nigerian-American filmmaker and content creator from Oakland, was in conversation with Professor Johnny Symons. Onyejekwe discussed her thesis documentary SHE about the experience of a Black trans woman, which was supported by Queer Cinema Project and featured on KQED's Truly CA. She has a passion for telling stories through visual media and believes that representation matters in front and behind the camera.
